Terms of Service

Last updated: September 19, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Beru's websites, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the "Platform"). By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Beru.

1. Role of Beru — directory and marketplace only

Beru is a directory and marketplace platform. We provide software tools that help customers discover and book barbers, tattoo artists, nail technicians, salons, and other beauty or grooming professionals ("Providers"), and that help Providers and establishments manage profiles, availability, bookings, messaging, and related features.

Beru does not itself provide barbering, tattooing, nail, salon, or other personal-care services. Beru does not employ Providers as employees to deliver those services, and Beru is not a party to the service relationship between a customer and a Provider unless we expressly state otherwise for a specific feature.

You acknowledge that when you book or receive a service through a listing on Beru, the Provider (or their establishment) is solely responsible for performing that service.

2. Independent Providers and establishments

Providers and establishments listed on Beru are independent businesses or individuals. They are responsible for their own licensing, permits, insurance, taxes, hygiene and safety standards, professional qualifications, pricing, staffing, and compliance with applicable Philippine and local laws.

Any agreement for the underlying beauty or grooming service is between the customer and the Provider (or establishment). Beru may facilitate introductions, scheduling, communications, and (when enabled) payment processing tools, but that does not make Beru the supplier of the service.

3. No responsibility for third-party services

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Beru is not responsible or liable for:

  • The quality, safety, legality, timing, or outcome of any service performed by a Provider;
  • Injury, illness, allergic reaction, property damage, or other harm arising from a Provider's services or premises;
  • No-shows, cancellations, late arrivals, or disputes over price, refunds, tips, or workmanship;
  • Accuracy of a Provider's licenses, certifications, portfolio photos, reviews, or listing claims;
  • Conduct of customers or Providers offline, including harassment or unlawful acts.

If a dispute arises about a service, you should first contact the other party. Beru may, at its discretion, provide Platform support, moderation, or account actions, but Beru is not obligated to mediate or resolve service disputes and does not guarantee any particular outcome.

4. Accounts

You must provide accurate information and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, create risk for other users, or are used for fraud or abuse.

Some features may require invitation, verification, or approval (for example, Provider applications). We may accept or reject applications and may change eligibility rules.

5. Listings and content

Providers are solely responsible for the accuracy of their profiles, services, prices, photos, availability, and other listing content. Customers are responsible for content they submit (such as reviews or messages).

You grant Beru a non-exclusive license to host, display, and use content you submit as needed to operate and promote the Platform. You must not post unlawful, infringing, misleading, or harmful content. Beru may remove or restrict content and listings at any time.

6. Bookings, payments, and subscriptions

Booking tools on Beru help customers request appointments. A booking confirmation on the Platform does not make Beru the service provider.

Service payments. When in-app payments are enabled, customer payments for bookings may be processed through our payment partner (currently PayMongo) according to the options shown at checkout. When in-app payments are not enabled for a booking, payment arrangements between customer and Provider (for example, cash or other methods outside Beru) are solely their responsibility.

Beru does not store full card numbers. Payment processors handle card and e-wallet data under their own terms and privacy policies. Fees, refunds, chargebacks, and payout timing for enabled payments are subject to our then-current payment rules and processor requirements.

Provider subscriptions. Paid Provider plans (for example, Pro or Premium) are fees for Platform features and visibility tools. Subscription fees are separate from amounts customers pay Providers for services.

7. Acceptable use

  • Do not harass, threaten, or defraud other users.
  • Do not post unlawful, deceptive, or infringing content.
  • Do not attempt to disrupt, scrape without permission, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Platform.
  • Providers must only offer services they can lawfully provide and must comply with applicable local laws and professional rules.
  • Do not use Beru to solicit minors or for any illegal purpose.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Beru disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that listings or user content are accurate or reliable.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Philippine law, Beru and its operators, officers, employees, and agents are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunity, arising from your use of the Platform or from any third-party service arranged through the Platform.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Beru's total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or the Platform is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid to Beru (if any) for Platform access in the three (3) months before the claim, or (b) one thousand Philippine pesos (₱1,000). Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

10. Indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify Beru against claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Platform, your content, your violation of these Terms, or (if you are a Provider) your services or listings.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in the Philippines shall have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.
